Grand Auditorium
The Grand Auditorium is an excellent all around model. It's great for strumming and picking. It makes a great fingerstyle guitar. It has deep powerful bass, a smooth non-muddy midrange, and crisp singing trebles. It is overall very well balanced. The standard specs on this model are as follows.
The triple 0 model is based on the old Martin "000" models. It has excellent output and balance. It makes for a great fingerstyle guitar.
Scale Length: 25.5 Nut Width: 1 7/8" String Spacing: 2 5/16" Neck to body joint: 12 fret Upper Bout: 10 7/8" Waist: 9" Lower Bout: 15 1/8" Body Length: 20 3/8" Scalloped "X" bracing
Nick Lucas
My Nick Lucas model guitar is based on the old Gibson Nick Lucas and L-00 model guitars. It's shape is not copied exact from the original guitars. I have drawn these plans myself. The sound is really nice on these guitars. They have a small body but they are unusually deep. This gives them more power and output. They make great fingerstyle guitars. Here are the standard specs.
Scale Length: 25.5 Nut: 1 3/4" String Spacing @ Bridge: 2 1/4" Neck to body joint: 13 fret Depth at Tail: 4 7/8" Upper Bout: 10 7/8" Waist: 8 3/4" Lower Bout: 15" Body Length: 19 3/4" Slotted Headstock
OM
The OM model guitar is also a very well balanced guitar. It is slightly smaller than the Grand Auditorium. It offers a well balanced sound for solo guitar. This style is often chosen by fingerstyle players. It is also very good for recording because it's not overly boomy.
Standard Specs: Scale Length: 25.4 Nut Width: 1 3/4" String Spacing at Bridge: 2 1/4" Upper Bout: 11 1/4" Waist: 9" Lower Bout: 15" Body Length: 19 1/2"
Small Jumbo
The Small Jumbo looks basically like a Gibson Jumbo but it's smaller. The Horton Small Jumbo has a very powerful sound for it's size. It is also very versatile. It can be used with many different styles of playing. It makes a good fingerstyle guitar but it also has enough volume and output to be used as a good rhythm guitar.
Standard Specs: Scale Length: 25.4 Nut Width: 1 3/4" String Spacing at bridge: 2 1/4" Upper Bout: 11 5/8" Waist: 9 3/4" Lower Bout: 15 1/2" Body Length: 20"
Medium Jumbo
The medium jumbo is a little larger than a small jumbo, but still smaller than a regular jumbo guitar. This guitar has very good output. Its got lots of volume and power, while still sounding very balanced. Its got lots of bass and punch, but not quite like a dreadnought. It has a little more balance than a dreadnought.
Standard Specs: Scale Length: 25.5 Nut Width: 1 3/4 String Spacing: 2 1/4 Neck to Body Joint: 14 fret Depth at Tail: 4 3/4 Upper Bout: 12 1/16 Waist: 9 1/4 Lower Bout: 16 1/4 Body Length: 20 3/16
Dreadnought
The Horton Dreadnought model is a real canon. It's great for playing bluegrass. It has a very strong bass response and nice bright trebles. It has a loud strong rhythm and a singing lead that cuts through the mix.
Standard Specs: Scale Length: 25.4 Nut Width: 1 3/4" String Spacing at Bridge: 2 1/4" Upper Bout: 12 1/8" Waist: 11 3/16" Lower Bout: 16" Body Length: 20 1/8"
Slope Shoulder Dreadnought
This Dreadnought also has vintage styling. With the slope shoulders, the slotted headstock, the 12 fret neck joint, the narrow bridge, and the wider neck, it is a real joy to play. The sound is great! Very loud, and very responsive. It will work well with most all playing styles but leans a little more fingerstyle because of the wider neck and 12 fret neck/body joint.
